An old caption can date an otherwise useful clip. Spoofzy’s experimental Pro text removal helps prepare short videos for a new hook or updated offer. It supports eligible clips up to 15 seconds, 1080p SDR; check the result for visual artifacts before adding new text.
Find out how the captions were added
If you still have the editing project, switch off the text layer and save a clean version. A separate subtitle track can also be managed in the player or editor.
Burned-in captions are part of the video’s pixels. Removing them involves reconstructing the covered area. This is the route to consider when the captioned file is the version you have available.
| What you have | First route | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Editable project | Disable or edit the text layer | Keep the original project |
| Separate subtitle track | Use the player or editor’s track controls | A separate track can be switched off |
| Only the captioned video | Consider a supported visual-removal workflow | Missing background must be reconstructed |
Give a useful clip a new brief
You might want to update last month’s price, replace a seasonal message or adapt an approved client clip for a different campaign. Make a short note of the new text before starting; it helps you plan the finished edit.
Use footage you own or have permission to edit. Where the old captions carried dialogue, include replacement subtitles in the new version.
Remove the overlay in Pro Text Studio
Open Pro Settings → Text & logo → Add or remove text and select removal. Upload an eligible clip up to 15 seconds at 1080p SDR, read the displayed credit quote and processing consent, then confirm.
Keep the original alongside the returned copy. Plain backgrounds are generally easier to repair than moving faces or intricate detail, so give those busier areas a closer look.
The feature is experimental. If the repair looks soft or uneven, a clean source or a different cut may give you a better starting point.
Watch the repaired area through the full clip
Play the result at normal speed and look for flicker, smearing or changed edges where the text used to be. Pause on a few busy frames to inspect the detail.
Once the clip looks good, add the replacement line in Text Studio. Check its timing and placement, then save the finished version for your next post.
