What is metadata, and what does this remove?
Metadata is information stored inside a file beyond the picture or video itself. It can include GPS location, device details and dates. Metadata Cleaner removes supported fields from images and videos; standard image GPS, device and date fields have separate choices. Supported C2PA provenance data is always removed, but not every possible metadata format is covered.
Will my image or video look different?
The tool removes hidden information without intentionally changing the media’s appearance, and preserves orientation. Review the cleaned result before sharing and keep your original file.
Does this remove SynthID or visible watermarks?
No. Metadata Cleaner is separate from SynthID Removal and does not remove visible watermarks. It also cannot hide details visible in the content or make you anonymous. Metadata cleaning is not a guarantee of total privacy.
How do I batch remove metadata from photos?
Choose Clean a batch in Metadata Cleaner, follow the upload prompts and send supported files. Set the available keep/remove options for standard image GPS, device and date fields. Download the completed batch, then inspect the copies you intend to share. Supported C2PA data is removed too, so keep your original files.
Can I remove photo GPS data while keeping the capture date?
Standard image GPS, device and date fields have separate keep/remove choices. You can remove supported GPS information while keeping a supported capture date. This does not preserve every metadata type: supported C2PA credentials are removed, and the image may still show recognisable locations. Inspect the actual output before sharing.
