How to add timed text and hooks to videos
Give your video a strong opening hook and timed text with Spoofzy Pro Text Studio.
A simple three-beat edit.
- Bring
- Your clip + your words
- Make
- Your video with timed text
- Open
- Pro Settings → Text & logo
A well-timed line gives viewers a reason to stay. Pro Text Studio lets you write your own hook, add timed text beats and choose from six looks, while keeping the original video format where supported.
Give the opening line a clear purpose
Name the thing the viewer will learn or see. “How it fits in a small bag” gives a product demo a clear point. Follow it with a useful detail as the footage develops.
Here is a simple example for a repurposing tutorial: “One shoot. Three posts.” → “Take a clip and two stills.” → “Save your favourites for this week.” Each line advances the story and gives the next shot a purpose.
Time each line to the footage
Open Pro Settings → Text & logo → Add or remove text, choose the manual text workflow and upload your clip. Enter the hook and timed beats, choose a look and preview them together.
Read each line aloud at a comfortable pace. If it stays on screen for less time than that, shorten the wording or extend its timing. Position it where the footage has room, keeping the subject and important details visible.
Finally, check the intended app’s posting preview. Interface buttons, usernames and post descriptions can overlap the video, particularly near its edges.
| Beat | Job | Review question |
|---|---|---|
| Opening | Explain why this clip is relevant | Can I understand it before the scene changes? |
| Middle | Add a useful detail or step | Does the text leave the subject visible? |
| Ending | Give one clear next step | Does the final line remain on screen long enough? |
Hooks, subtitles and post descriptions
A hook introduces the idea on screen. Accessibility captions carry speech and important sounds in time with the video. The post description sits below the video and can add context, links or a longer explanation.
Text Studio handles on-video text. If you also need a complete subtitle track, prepare it as part of the edit and check its accuracy.
Save the finished clip or reuse your look
Manual Text Studio retains the original format where supported. Download the finished video and watch it through. If you want variations of that edit, send the downloaded copy to Premium Spoofer and choose text-preserving settings.
For repeat jobs, the owner can enable Caption Autopilot. It adds fresh generated hooks using the saved look on eligible Spoofer and Autospoof videos. You choose whether to enable it, and can check the wording as part of your usual video review.
