The practical answer

Show two angles of a product, pair a portrait with a detail, or bring two moments together in one post. Pro Side by side combines exactly two photos into a PNG, with layout, order, gap and background controls.

Choose a layout that keeps both photos in view

Use a “keep” layout when the whole image matters. The tool fits each photo inside its panel, leaving space where their proportions differ. A “fill” layout uses cropping to cover the selected shape.

Auto sizing follows the pair’s proportions. Square and portrait options give you a defined canvas for a planned post. If you choose a crop, check faces, labels and the edges of the product in the preview.

Create the pair in Editor

Open Editor → Side by side with Pro access and send exactly two still images as an album. Choose the layout, swap the order if needed, then adjust the gap and background.

For a product post, try the full item on the left and a close-up on the right. Use a quiet background so the images carry the detail. For two portraits, matching the subjects’ scale often makes the pair feel more balanced.

Start with similarly sized sources where possible. If one photo is much smaller, the preview’s source-size warning helps you catch the likely softness before downloading.

Preview the pair and download your PNG

Look at the layout at phone size. Check the reading order, spacing and whether both photos feel equally deliberate. A little space between the panels can help separate a busy pair.

Download the finished PNG when you are happy with it. The layout comes directly from Editor. If you want Spoofer variations or another processing step, upload the PNG to that tool afterwards.

Make a photo pair from the same video

Distinct Frames can supply the two images: run your video, pick two different moments and bring them into Side by side. A wide shot beside a close-up is a useful combination for a tutorial or product demonstration.

Keep the two source images alongside the PNG. You can return to the pair later, swap one photo or try a different layout for another post.
